ORGANISATION:

 International Symposia on Biomedical Science and Technology (BIOMED) have been organised every year since 1994.The First and the Second
BIOMED Symposia were organized as national symposia by Hacettepe University,Chemical Engineering Department,and Middle East Technical 
University(METU),Biotechnology Research Unit,Ankara-Turkey,respectively,in 1994 and 1995.The Third BIOMED Symposium is going to be held 
at Uludag-Bursa-Turkey also as a national symposium and will be organised 
jointly by Hacettepe University and METU in December 1996.
 The Scientific Committee has decided to organise the fourth Symposium as an international one in order to exchange information with 
scientists all over the world in this growing field.Therefore,the 4th International Symposium on Biomedical Science and Technology 
(BIOMED-4) will ve an International Symposium to be held in Istanbul between September 15-17, 1997.
 The BIOMED Symposia were organised with the intention of gathering scientists,and experts from universities,research institues and in 
this rapidly developing interdisiplinary field and of encouraging young researchers to find a place for themselves in the wide spectrum 
of the interesting subjects.
 The Symposium is divided into sessions.In most of the sessions a plenary lecture will be presented by an acknowledged international 
expert.The penary lectures will be followed by the presentations of a number of original research papers.In addition to the oral 
presentations , posters will be on display,too.
 It is hoped that this important meeting will once again succeed in 
encouraging the exchange of useful information and in providing the 
opportunity for new contacts and friendship.
 Turkish hospitality will welcome you in the beautiful city of Istanbul in 1997.
